Built in the 2nd week of May 1966, the PHS documented GTO is equipped with the original YS code 389 CI, 335 HP engine and 93 Code heads. The motor was cast just a week prior to the car being built, making them a good match. During the restoration, a tri-power set-up was sourced, complete with 3 freshly rebuilt carburetors, and the car received a rebuilt M20 4-speed transmission. The rest of the fuel system has been completely restored as well including the fuel pump, fuel lines, fuel tank, and sending unit. Along with the rebuilt 4-speed transmission, the car also received all new shifter linkage, clutch linkage, clutch and flywheel.
The suspension on the GTO has been completely rebuilt and has all new bushings, new springs and new shocks all the way around. All the components are stock, and the car has a nice smooth ride. The brakes are also completely rebuilt and feature all hard lines and a new dual master cylinder with power booster. The car stops nice and straight and has good pedal feel. The GTO rides on brand new Silvertown Redline radials on restored wheels with 4 brand new trim rings.
