Scheduled for build on March 22, 1968, this Ford Mustang GT Fastback has been a Southern car since new and is the recipient of a 2 year old rotisserie restoration. It was originally delivered at Moody Motor Company in Perry, GA and was built at the Dearborn, MI plant.
During the restoration, the car was taken down to bare metal, body worked and finished in the correct Candy Apple Red. All of the stainless trim has been refinished, and the chrome is new. Also new are all of the rubber seals and gaskets and all of the glass with the exception of the rear window. The interior has been completely gone through as well and features the very rare bench seat option. It also has an overhead console with map lights, and was restored with the factory optioned Interior Decor kit.
The engine is the factory J code 302 and has been rebuilt to stock specifications. The transmission is the tried and true C-4, and the rear end the factory 3.25 standard axle ratio. The engine fires right up and falls into a nice idle. It’s well mannered around town and ran nice and cool during our 80 degree test day. The engine compartment is as clean as a whistle and was accurately restored with the correct lines, hoses, colors, clamps, and decals.
