Built on June 7th, 1965 in Dearborn Michigan, this ‘65 Mustang K code Fastback had a rotisserie restoration in 2002. Since then, this pony car has been driven sparingly and shown with the MCA.
During the restoration, the body of the car was stripped down to bare metal and the undercarriage is finished in the correct red oxide primer. The exterior features a modern two-stage paint job in factory correct Rangoon red over a standard black interior which was also restored. The interior features a full-length console, Rally Pac, and AM radiator.
The solid lifter Hi Po 289/271 HP K code engine, 4-speed transmission, and Ford 9” rear end were all rebuilt during the restoration. The engine runs out very strong and the 4-speed tranny and 3.50 gear are a nice compliment. The car has the correct carb, radiator, and correct heads.
While the car was disassembled, all of the suspension and brake components were gone through as well. The Mustang has a nice, tight, stock feel and cruises as nicely on the highway as it does around town.
The K code received an MCA Silver during recent judging and the sheets are included in the photos of the vehicle.
