Built in the second week of January, 1969, the Daytona Yellow Chevrolet Camaro Z28 RS is a fully restored car that maintains many survivor car qualities. Correct cars, finished in correct colors that are matching numbers, and display date code correctness throughout the majority of their components are always going to be the best investment vehicles.

Starting with a very nice original car, this 1969 Camaro underwent a full, rotisserie restoration back to show condition. The body was stripped down to bare metal, the subframe removed from the unibody and all of the mechanical and electrical components were removed. After a bare metal respray in original and code correct Daytona Yellow (76), the car was reassembled from the ground up. The Camaro features a brand new interior, complete will all new soft parts, reconditioned trim, and new chrome. The windshield and windows are all correct for the car and display all of the correct date codes with late 1968 production numbers. Even the seat belts were produced in late 1968, just prior to the build of the car.

The engine of the Camaro is a thing of beauty and has been completely rebuilt. If you want all original parts, then this car has it going on. The matching numbers engine is a V1206DZ stamped motor which is a Z28 motor and was assembled on December 6th of 1968. The casting number of 3932386 is correct and the block itself was cast on November 12th of 1968. Looking at the heads, the left head was cast on November 28th, and the right head was cast on November 29th. The intake manifold was cast in mid December and the carburetor which has the correct DZ stamp was made in early July. The distributor does not have a date code but, is a correct and original distributor for a 1969 Z28. Both of the exhaust manifold are correct for the car and were cast on the same day, the 28th of May.

The rear end is a Posi-traction 3.37 unit code BU0105G2 and was a date stamp from January of 1968 and the transmission has a date stamp from June 10th of 1968. The master cylinder, water pump, starter, radiator, voltage regulator are all date code correct for the Camaro as well. Pretty impressive!

The Camaro leaves little room for improvement and is a far cry from your typical Z28, which are usually nice paint jobs, and not a whole lot of substance. On top of that, let’s not forget that this a Z28 Rallye Sport model, which gives it a nice little bump in exclusivity.

If you have been looking for a very correct, numbers matching, 1969 Camaro Z28 RS, your search is over. Stop sitting on your hands and do something about it.
