This 1979 Chevy Silverado is a factory 454 ½ ton short bed. Optioned by Chevrolet as the Big 10 model, these performance based trucks were quite rare compared to the regular production models offered by Chevy. The truck retains the matching numbers 454 CI V8, matching numbers Turbo 400 transmission, and has a Detroit 3.37 locker rear end.
The truck had a frame-off restoration in 2004 and all of the panels have been down to bare metal during the restoration. Prior to 2003 the engine and transmission had never been opened and the truck had just under 120,000 miles. During the restoration, all drivetrain components were rebuilt and the truck has an upgraded cam and heads. The original cam and heads come with the truck.
