This 1990 “7-Up” Mustang LX has traveled just 226 miles since new! The car has had just two owners, a father and then his daughter and it’s been kept in climate controlled storage since it was delivered.
Originally conceptualized as a give away car for NCAA sponsored by 7-Up, the idea pitch was simple; sink a shot from half court and win a Mustang. For unknown reasons, the contest was canceled and only 2 of the 30 planned cars had been produced. Ford, however, decided to produce around 4k of the 7-Up Mustangs as an unofficial 25th anniversary special, and the rest is history.
All of the 7-Up Mustangs were LX convertibles powered by the 255 HP, 5.0 V8. They were all finished in Deep Emerald Green with color keyed mirrors and moldings. They also came equipped with the GT’s 15” aluminum rims and a package that included cruise control, an upgraded sound system and AC.
This car is one the finest survivors we have ever come across. Everything from the interior, to the engine compartment to the undercarriage have been wonderfully preserved. All of the paint finished are original and even the tires are all the matching originals.
