This all steel 1953 Chevy 3100 received a full frame off rotisserie restoration just two years ago. The truck is loaded with new high end components that make this gorgeous old truck drive like a new performance oriented hot rod. The truck has just 2,800 miles since the custom build and she is totally sorted and ready to drive to shows this spring and summer.
The restoration on the Chevy started with a rust free West Coast body and really came together from there. After removing the chassis from the truck, the frame was media blasted and powder coated in a medium gray shade. The powder coat bond is much stronger than traditional paint application and also makes for easy quick clean up. The 3100 was painted in Electric Green Mica and looks amazing. The steel body has been nicely reworked and the bed was custom molded out of steel. The tail gate has a shaved handle look with a remote switch. Open the hood and there is more of that beautiful green paint and a custom molded firewall. The interior is crisp and shows high quality craftsmanship with lots of custom stitching a nice custom door panels. The gauges are high end units from Classic Instruments and the custom stereo components fit perfectly under the seat.
The truck handles very nicely courtesy of a rack and pinion Heidts Mustang II front suspension clip and a 4-link rear end. The steering wheel hooks up to polished and adjustable Flaming River steering column. The shocks are adjustable QA1 coil overs and the front disc brakes bring the Chevy to a quick stop. The truck has a perfect running new GM ZZ4 motor that puts out a solid 355 Horsepower and 405 lbs ft of torque out of the box. The ZZ4 engine comes built with a forged steel crankshaft, hyper eutectic pistons, hydraulic roller camshaft and lifters, and aluminum cylinder heads. The ZZ4’s performance heads are base on Corvette technology and feature high velocity intake runners with D-shaped exhaust ports to promote efficient and unobstructed flow through the engine — providing strong power and torque at all RPM levels. The transmission is a Turbo 350 and was powder coated to match the frame. The Chevy also has a brand new Vintage Air system complete with AC and heat and of course all new vents and controls in the cabin.
Whether you’re looking for a great cruiser or show truck for the upcoming season this 3100 fits the bill and won’t last for long.
