This amazing pearl white over red 1964 Impala has just 400 miles since a complete rotisserie restoration. From the top side the car is a stand out mild custom with a slick paint job, but don’t pass up the undercarriage detail. During the restoration the body was removed from the original "X" frame and the car was set on a custom chassis that took hundreds of hours of work. The results speak for themselves with a totally custom "Eifel" like spinal cord chassis that is piece of art work. Make sure not to miss all of the custom 3" ceramic coated exhaust work and all of the "Swiss cheese" custom brackets that went into the build. There is something unique and custom to see from nearly every angle of the undercarriage all the way back to the gas tank which is a very nice custom piece.
The 4-link suspension is beautifully integrated into the chassis work as are the nicely finished custom a-arms on the front of the car. The Impala rides out on a 4-way Air Ride Technogies suspension with dampening and rebound courtesy of Edelbrock and the steering is precise and crisp due to the updated rack and pinion front suspension. The rear axle is a custom 9" Ford built for the chassis with 3:73 Posi gears and the transmission is a Turbo 400. The engine is a freshly built big block 402 with an aluminum front runner kit, Vintage Air and an aluminum Be Cool radiator with electric fans. All of the important lines are braided and have high-end aircraft fasteners. The car has great power, a big sound, and runs nice and cool out on the road. We’ve put on 40 test miles and couldn’t be more pleased. The 4 wheel disc brakes are a big step up from any factory set up back in the 1960’s and it’s hard to fault the modern tire technology. Speaking of tires and wheels, the 20" Coys in the back and the 18" Coys up front give the car a nice aggressive stance that is totally adjustable.
The interior is crisp and new with a nicely constructed gauge pod complete with Air Ride controls, Vintage AC controls, and a custom stereo that is set up for Sirius satellite radio. The dash is a Dakota Digital unit that is programmable and also has data acquisition options. The interior has a few very mild custom touches and does a great job of utilizing the all of the original GM interior designs.
Whether you’re looking for a practical show car, all-the-time cruiser, this Impala fits the bill and will suck you in with it gorgeous custom touches.
