The ’67-’72 Chevrolet series of pickups are becoming nearly as popular as Chevy trucks from the 1950’s have. They were great trucks from the start and have simply never fallen out of favor with enthusiasts, with a steady rise throughout the 1990’s to the present time.
This 1972 Chevy Cheyenne Super was treated to a frame off restoration this past year and has just 250 test miles to her name since. The paint is slick, shiny, and the body on the truck is absolutely rust free and solid. The panels on the truck are very straight and the metal and wood panels in the bed are pristine and held together with gleaming stainless fasteners. The 400 CI engine runs smooth and quietly, and the Hydromatic transmission provides smooth shifting through the gears.
These trucks were a huge jump forward from Chevys from the 1950 and even most of the 1960’s. They are easy and comfortable to drive long distances, and have the creature comforts more inline with that of an automobile compared to older vintage pickups—which are not that dissimilar to farm equipment. This Chevy is loaded with AC, power steering, power disc brakes (front), AM radio, gauge package including tachometer, and an interior that beautifully appointed.
The interior on the truck is totally new and restored. All the trim, gauges, panels and seats are in brand new show condition, and that gorgeous red paint combined with the black and red houndstooth looks is about as retro-chic as it gets. Open up the hood of the truck and it’s more of the same with lots of bright red and shinny black paint and a ton of restored components.
