This 1965 Mustang convertible combines timeless looks with nice modern upgrades to create a competent tourer with aggressive handling and creature comforts to boot.
The result of a two year restoration, this Mustang convertible now rides on a fully-independent rear suspension with Koni coil overs and a front suspension complete with power rack and pinion steering, tubular control arms and coil-over shocks. The result is complete elimination of all of the old Mustang handling woes. The brakes come on strong with 4-wheel Wilwood disc brakes with drilled rotors, and the modern tires and Coy’s wheels are a nice extension of the upgraded suspension components.
The engine is a 342 CI unit producing 370 HP and 350 lbs ft. of torque on the dyno. The motor has a 750 CFM carb, MSD Blaster II, Pro Billet Distributor, Meziere electric water pump, Miloden oil pan, hi-torque starter, Performer RPM Air Gap intake, braided fuel lines, and electric Holley fuel pump. With the Tremec 5-speed transmission and 3.73 rear drive ratio, the car is a pleasure to drive and really quick through the gears. On the front of the engine is a polished billet pulley system which spins the Vintage AC compressor keeping you nice and cool while you cruise.
The interior is a custom job with bucket seats, AutoMeter Gauges, power windows, center console and Alpine custom stereo set up. It’s comfortable and nicely put together. The exterior features custom wheel flares, Shelby-style front bumper, billet tail light housings, billet gas cap and billet hood pins.
Cars this unique don’t come around that often, so don’t sit on your hands, or you might miss out.
