Built with cost as no object, this incredibly clean 1968 Camaro SS was rotisserie restored to the highest standards. This drivable show-quality car offers up a both build quality and flat out performance that are guaranteed to please the Muscle Car enthusiast.
The Camaro features a beautifully worked body with excellent gaps, flowing character lines and slick, hand rubbed paint. Open up the doors and the hood and the quality finish runs deep into all areas of the body. The door jams are slick as are the firewall, fender wells, and the gleaming semi-gloss floor boards. The front sub-frame is finished in a crisp gloss black and even the transmission has been detailed out in a nice silver gloss. To finish the exterior, all of the glass and stainless trim pieces were replaced during the restoration. The interior is tastefully upgraded with comfortable bucket seats and a nicely upholstered rear seat. The slick center console houses a quartet of Autometer gauges and the center of the dash controls the climate via Vintage Air and plays the tunes through an Alpine head unit. The steering column is an adjustable Ididit unit and surrounding the column are more Autometer Phantom gauges.
The engine is an rip roaring 383 stroker with dyno sheets to boot. Highlighting the build are Eagle SIR rods, SpeedPro flat top pistions, Comp Cams, Edelbrock aluminum cylinder heads and an MSD distributor. With 10:1 compression, the motor runs perfectly on pump gas and the dyno sheets show a solid 480 Hp and 485 lbs ft of torque. The motor is hooked up to a very efficient Be Cool radiator with a custom built shroud with dual electric fans. She breaths through a set of coated long tube header and a stout sounding dual exhaust.
The transmission is Tremec 5-speed unit set up by Keisler Engineering for the 68 Camaro. As soon as you hit the highway you’ll be thankful for the 5th overdrive gear which allows for easy cruising at a reasonable RPM. The rear end was built by Moser and includes 3.55 gears, Corvette studs, and an Eaton Posi.
The car has a feel which is a nice compliment to the nearly 500 HP engine. The front end is a beefy Global West Tubular upper and lower control arm set up with all urethane bushings. Adjustable QA1 shocks sit on all four corners and a DSE steering gear box really tighten up the steering feel. Hauling this pro-tourer to a halt is a Baer 4-wheel disc set up a hydro boost master cylinder.
