This 1955 Chevy has recently been through a frame off rotisserie restoration and has just 240 miles since the work was complete. She is finished in striking Viper Red over a professionally crafted interior and is powered by a Chevy 350 with a turbo 350 transmission which make for a fantastic cruising combination.
During the restoration the body was removed from the frame in order to achieve the highest quality restoration. Both the body and the frame were media blasted down to bare metal and refinished from the ground up. The body features all new tinted glass, window seals, channels and felts. All of the chrome has either been replaced or replated and the same goes for the stainless trim. The frame has been refinished in satin black and the undercarriage has been coated in Rhino liner for a chip free finish.
Of course all of the body-to-frame bushings are brand new as are all of the suspension components. The car is now equipped with a Uni-Steer rack and pinion front and with power front disc brakes and rear drums. The car rides on 2" dropped spindles in the front and 2" dropped springs in the rear. There are Cragers all the way around and the tires are 215 60 R15 on the rear and 205 60 R15 in front. The car has a really nice ride and makes the perfect cruiser for both around town and highway use.
The interior is nicely appointed with Dakota digital gauges and a polished aluminum dash insert. All of the side window moldings have been chromed as have the glove box door, and ash tray. The headliner, seats, door panels, quarter panels and kick panels have been upholstered in grey and the trunk has been upholstered to match. All of the seat belts are new in the front and rear and the battery and spare have been located behind the rear seat in a separated compartment. For creature comforts there is a Vintage Air AC system that features all brand new components that replace all of the heater components as well as all of the lines and duct work. The radio is an IPOD equipped modern radio with an old school look that does not require dash modification for installation. The steering wheel is a totally adjustable Flaming River column that allows the driver to set of the steering wheel based on his/her preferences.
This 1955 has just a few hundred test miles since restoration and is ready for the next owner.
