Finished in Cranberry Red over a pristine black interior, this 1972 Chevelle SS 454 LS5 was the recipient of a frame off, rotisserie restoration to show quality standards.
After the car was stripped of all of its components and the frame was removed from the body, the entire body was media blasted to a bare metal shell. Panels were straightened, body work was completed and a slick new coat of Cranberry Red paint was applied. The undercarriage is finished in the correct matte black finish and the engine compartment is accurately detailed in all of the correct Chevy colors, correct hoses, clamps, lines, etc… The car is straight, slick, and nicely detailed.
The original motor was not usable for the restoration, however, a code correct CTW LS5 was sourced for the restoration. So, it’s not the original, but it is darn close and correct for the car. In 1972 Chevy made it easy for collectors to decode their LS5s by putting a W in the VIN so there is no confusing this cars’s origins. The powerful motor is hooked up to a Muncie 4-speed transmission which runs back to a 12 bolt posi-traction rear end.
The car is nicely optioned out with power front disc brakes, power steering, Air Conditioning, the F41 suspension, console, mag wheels and new tires and more:
- A51 Bucket Seats
- B22 Door inner panel molding
- D55 Floor Console
- D88 Hood and Deck Stripe
- F41 Special Performance Suspension
- G80 Positraction Axle
- JL2 Disc Brakes
- J50 Vacuum Power Brakes
- LS5 454 CID 4BL V8
- NK4 Sport Steering Wheel
- U35 Electric Clock
With a restoration cost nearly double that of the asking price, this is an opportunity to own an amazingly restored car at just a fraction of the build cost.
