A lot of old trucks are treated kind of like – well, old trucks. These work horses were built to last and a lot of them are still around, but cosmetically, and mechanically, they are a little worn out. On the flip side, we have this truck, a complete frame off restoration with a lot of tasty upgrades making it a completely rock solid beast.
The heart of this Ford is a 460 CI big block that has been stroked to 557 CI. It has 10:1 compression, roller rockers, a Comp Cam, aluminum heads, Edelbrock intake and an 880 Holley carb. Providing a nice big spark is an MSD 6AL box. Feeding the engine is a Holley electric fuel pump. The truck has two fuel tanks, a 33 gallon and a 19 gallon auxiliary tank that can be accessed in case you manage to go through the first 33 gallons! The engine makes over 600 HP and pulls like a freight train down the road. It exhales through a set of custom headers and a 2.5 inch exhaust system with a substantial exhaust note. The motor has a polished March serpentine belt system complete with ice cold AC.
This killer truck has an upgraded drivetrain that compliments the big powerplant. The transmission is a built C6 with hardened shafts and a shift kit. The truck uses a 3500 stall converter and the front axle has been upgraded from a Dana 40 to a Dana 60 to give it a rock solid drivetrain. The F250 is geared with 4.11s and really gets after it off the line and has been upgraded with a very powerful hydroboost braking system that easily locks up the tires and stops this big truck quickly.
During the restoration, the entire body was pulled off the frame and both were stripped down to bare metal. The frame has a nice new coat of gloss black and the body has gorgeous new body work and beautifully finished paint. The clear coat has a very clean wet sanded finish and a shine that really pops when the sun hits it. The bed has a durable coat of Rhino liner should you decide to put anything back there.
The truck features a brand new interior with new seats, door panels, carpeting, headliner panel, and refinished dash. All of the wiring from front to rear of the F250 is brand new and the stereo has been upgraded with a modern head unit that has a connection for your Ipod or MP3 player.
For the Ford truck enthusiast looking for a restored truck built with serious components, trucks like this don’t come around often, so don’t miss out!
