This 1979 Ford Bronco is not your typical worn out, rusty, dirty looking old 4×4. It has received a proper restoration with a ton of upgrades, making it better than they ever were when they were new.
There are a lot of paint jobs out there, but this Bronco had its body lifted off the frame and both were stripped down to bare metal. The frame was stripped of its suspension components and was media blasted before it was finished in a nice new coat of black paint. The body was stripped down to bare metal and was blocked to perfection before it received a shiny new coat of two stage paint.
Gone is the original small block, and in its place sits a rip roaring 460 CI big block. A Comp Cam provides a nice, lumpy idle, and aluminum heads and an 880 Holley carb provide a nice power increase over stock spec. The truck now has an MSD 6 AL ignition which replaces the antiquated points system and and engine exhales through a set of headers and a 2.5" Flowmaster exhaust system. The engine falls into a nice idle after start up and has gobs of power at your command. The transmission is a built C6 and the 9" rear end has 35 spline axles and a meaty limited slip setup.
After the frame was stripped and painted, it received all new suspension components from front to rear. The brakes have been converted over to a trick Hydroboost system and have tons more power compared to the stock setup. The truck has no issues locking up the 35" tires which are fitted to a nice new set of American Racing wheels.
The Bronco features a restored interior finished in bright red. If it’s hot out, turn on the ice cold AC system and if you have kids, they will have a blast riding in the back seat with the top off. The truck has enough power to make it fun, but it’s also practical and reliable enough to drive every day. It performs well on the highway, and makes for a competent around-town cruiser as well.
