This 1971 Corvette Convertible is finished in Correct Mille Miglia Red over a black interior and was built in April of 1971. The car has had 4 owners, and has just over 105,000 original miles. In 2012, the car underwent a complete rotisserie, frame off restoration done to NCRS standards. In April of 2013, the car received the Top Flight Award for excellence in the restoration and preservation of the vehicle. It scored a 95.1 overall, which puts it in the top judging category that includes anything over 94 points.
The body of the car is an excellent example of both originality and fit and finish. All of the panels are original except for the lower rear tail panel which was damaged and was replaced during the restoration. The entire front end is original and the fitment of the hood and headlights is awesome. The gaps between the doors are excellent and they close with perfection. The headlight gaps are also superb and fit flush with the car’s nose. The paint has an excellent finish, and it was judged as being slightly over restored. The paint finishes are dull in the correct places per NCRS guidelines. The floor boards have a light coating which was a dealer add, and the front springs should technically be raw metal instead of black. All body bushings and hardware are new and all of the brakes and suspension have been reworked. Accompanying the vehicle is a large stack of receipts for the new parts used in the build.
The vehicle was restored in the correct original colors and retains its original drive train. The engine was rebuilt using hardened guides and can be used with high octane pump gas without any type of lead substitute. The matching numbers transmission has been gone through as has the original rear end.
