In 1951, Lewis D. Crusoe, a retired GM executive was lured out of retirement by Henry Ford II to build a new car. While in Paris with Frank Hershey, a chief Ford designer, Crusoe pointed at a sports car and asked Walker, "Why can’t we have something like that?" These three men are generally credited with creating the original Thunderbird. The vision was a two seat convertible powered by an Interceptor V8 that was capable of going 100 MPH.

This gorgeous Thunderbird Blue 1955 P-code Ford Thunderbird is equipped with the 292 CI V8 and 3-speed transmission with overdrive. The Thunderbird recently underwent a beautiful frame-off, nut and bolt restoration. The T-Bird runs out strong, glides down the road, and would make a great show car, or very high condition weekend driver.

For the astute collector looking to acquire a frame off restored T-Bird at half the price of restoration cost, this car will not last for long.
