Willys Jeep

SOLD
  • Year: 1949
  • Make: Willys
  • Model: Jeep

Inspired by Karl Probst’s early design and “Blitz Buggy” prototype from American Bantam Car Company, and made famous by the durability and tactical importance of the MB model Military Jeeps of World War II, Willy’s-Overland Motor Company later went on to produce a civilian series of Jeep of which the CJ (or Civilian Jeep) models were the most stunning and now, collectible examples.

The CJ-3A civilian Universal Jeep model produced by Willys-Overland Company is modeled closely on the Military production model and is every bit as simple and robust as its only slightly more famous military counterpart.

This exceptional CJ-3A has undergone an extensive frame-off, nut and bolt restoration and is without question among the very nicest examples to acquire for any collection. This special car’s mechanicals are fresh and very sound, and this remarkable CJ is ready for its next assignment. There are very few high condition examples of this rare and durable classic—but few indeed so well prepared as this collector piece!
