This 1952 Chevy 3100 is one of the nicest restored pickup that we’ve seen to date. This lucky truck was treated to a complete nut and bolt, frame-off restoration done to standards typically not seen on vintage pickups. Let’s face it – they were work trucks back in the day, so a paint job and a new interior seems to be the standard so called "restoration" nowadays.
Starting with a strip down to bare metal, this truck was completed the right way from the beginning. After the body was reworked, the Chevy received a modern day base coat/clear re-finish and a thorough wetsanding. We were far fetched to find any trim, or even hardware that is original to the truck – just nice shiny new trim, chrome work, screws, nuts, bolts…everything. All of the glass on the truck is brand new stuff, all of the rubber is new, and the bed is Red Oak with pretty stainless hardware.
The interior is as crisp and new as the day it was born, complete with a modern turn signal indicator and a new-vintage-looking radio. As with the exterior, the interior is totally mint and as say, "in-the-wrapper." So new in fact that it smells the part. Electrically, the harness is totally new and all of the gauges, lights, and signals are in perfect working order.
The drivetrain consists of a rebuilt, highly detailed and extra smooth running 235 CI engine. The engine compartment is immaculate and the engine sitting smack in the middle is perfectly framed. Of course everything in the compartment is new from the hoses, to the wiring, to all of the hardware. The 3-on-a-tree transmission synchronizes nicely and shifts well between gears. As with the rest of the components, it was completely gone through and resealed. It’s great around town with a max cruising speed of about 60 miles per hour.
If you can find a nicer one, buy it. If you have a nicer truck, sell it to us. That being said, chances are you can’t find one nicer so don’t sit on your hands and miss out. Regret is one heck of an emotion.
