This 1954 Chevy 3100 was a complete frame off restoration that was just completed last month. It is in immaculate showroom condition and just has test miles on it at the moment. The truck has been finished in gorgeous two-tone paint and is ready to show, or enjoy around town. The restoration included all mechanical, cosmetic and electrical components. Every screw, nut and bolt on this beauty has been handled with love upon restoration and reassembly.
During the restoration, every metal surface on the truck was stripped down to bare metal via soda blasting. The frame has been totally refinished in gloss paint and upon reassembly, all of the panels were expertly fit to the body. The truck has great lines and nice gaps around the doors. The paint is a two-tone base clear the has a nice wet sanded and buffed out finish. All of the chrome work is brand new and all of the trim and rubber is new as well. Most of the body hardware on the truck is now stainless, including all of the fasteners and strips in the bed. The bed wood is Oak and has a nice coat of lacquer. The undercarriage is very highly detailed and shows in like new condition. All of the glass on the truck is new as of the restoration.
The interior has a great timeless look and features all of the correct items and a few upgrades as well. All of the gauges have new glass lenses and bezels, the dash and doors carry the same burgundy as the exterior of the truck. All of the soft interior parts are new as of the restoration including the seats, headliner, door panels and carpeting. Have a look under the dash and everything looks brand new, including all of the wiring and finishes. The truck is equipped with the factory heater and it also has a Vintage Sound radio, with old school looks and modern features. The door handles and window cranks are brand new as are the other chrome finished interior items.
The truck is powered by the 235 ci Thriftmaster and is connected to the 3 speed transmission and correct rear end. They have all be recently rebuilt as of the restoration and the motor purrs like a kitten. Just pull on the choke, crank her over and you are ready to cruise. The transmission shifts smoothly and the rear end is quiet as a mouse. All suspension and brake components were restored during the restoration as well. The truck drives out very nicely and is not that far off from how it would have driven when it was brand new.
For the Chevy collector looking of a beautifully restored and drivable piece of Americana, this rolling work of art should suit your needs.
