An established modern classic beyond reproach, the Ford Mustang Convertible is as emblematic of the time and spirit of its production as it is of the modern Mustang enthusiast. Built on April 8th of 1966, this 1966 Ford Mustang convertible is finished in quintessential Candy Apple Red over a Red Crinkle Vinyl interior. The car was built in San Jose, delivered in Seattle, and then spent the majority of its life in Nevada and the last 25 years in Arizona. Unlike many of the Mustangs on the market, this car lived a rust free life in very dry weather.
Durings the Mustang’s stay in Arizona, it was restored under the watchful eye of a Mustang Club of America member. When we say "restoration," we don’t mean just a paint job and a new interior. This Mustang was painstakingly stripped down to a bare metal shell, and reconstructed piece by piece to create a beautiful show car. The car was a wonderful example to start with as it had been out West its entire life and the integrity of the body still shows today. It would be hard to find a car with straighter sides and panels that fit this well on the market today. The car is just "right on."
During the restoration, the Mustang received a complete rebuild of the engine, transmission and rear end to factory spec. The car runs as smooth as butter and is a breeze for anyone to drive. Assisting the experience is a completely restored brake and suspension system. The car has a wonderful ride and is the perfect cruiser.
Besides an immaculate exterior appearance, the Mustang has a like new interior featuring all new soft parts, reconditioned gauges, rebelted (original) seat buckles, new wiring, and a modern radio. Step into the interior, and it feels that maybe you should have done so without your shoes on. Undercarriage and engine detailing are spot on. Both are immaculate and the undercarriage has been finished in correct red oxide primer. The engine compartment exhibits the correct finish throughout, complete with the correct hoses, clamps and decals.
Millions of Mustangs were built, but the number of beautifully restored cars is very low. Why buy something that needs years of work when this Pony car can be owned now?
