Regardless of the specific power plant, the lines of the 1969 Ford Mustang Mach 1 Fastback cannot be mistaken, nor underestimated. Conceived at what was arguably the height of FoMoCo’s powers of concentration on the performance car market, and though the moment was ultimately to be short lived, the products of this brief time constitute among the most important and sought after vehicles of the entire muscle car movement.
Finished in Candyapple Red over a Black interior with Clarion knit seats, this 1969 Ford Mustang Mach 1 was built in San Diego, California on October 30th, 1968. It was shipped to Damerow Ford Co. in Beaverton OR, where it was originally sold in February of 1969.
Original factory options included the M code, 351-4v engine, FMX transmission, 3.25 standard axle ratio, Sport Deck rear seat, power front disc brakes, power steering and AM radio.
The car has been a lifelong Oregon car, where it lived free of salted roads and until its restoration. Two years ago, the car was stripped down to bare metal and received a complete restoration, including a comprehensive rebuild of the drivetrain, suspension system, brakes, and interior. The engine compartment is incredibly detailed back to original specs complete with all of the correct hoses, clamps, and decals.
The car is as nice at highway speeds as it is around town. With power steering and power brakes, the car is easy to drive and the ice cold AC will keep you comfortable while you cruise. Whether you are looking to win shows, or just cruise with the local club members, this Mustang can do it all.
