Built at the Metuchen Plant on July 1st of 1966, this gorgeous 1966 Mustang convertible is finished in very rare Sauterne Gold Metallic over a Black Crinkle Vinyl standard interior. This C-code convertible is powered by the 289 2V engine and C4 3-speed automatic transmission.

The Mustang received what is now a one year old restoration, and was sorted from top to bottom. The restoration began with a strip down to a bare metal on both the body and undercarriage of the car. After the bodywork was complete, it received a base coat/clear coat paint job and the undercarriage was finished in satin black paint. The paint has an excellent shine and smooth, sanded and buffed texture. The front and rear bumpers have new chrome and the rest of the stainless has been refinished. The interior has been completed using Scott Drake components and sports the black crinkle material complete with the Rally Pack gauges, center console and power top. All of the soft parts are brand new and look fabulous.

The engine is a rebuilt 289 running all stock components and the same with the C4 transmission. The rear end uses 2.80:1 rear gears which combined with the C4 transmission, offer low RPM highway cruising and brisk acceleration around town. Driving the car is a breeze. Upon startup, the Mustang falls into a nice easy idle and you won’t break a sweat trying to maneuver the car thanks to the power steering set up.

If you are looking for a classy vintage Mustang cruiser that is ready to drive now, this 1966 has a lot to offer.
