Purchased new in 1978 by Mr. W. Clark, this 1978 Country Squire Wagon LTD had just one owner until 2013 and has just over 62,000 miles since new. Mr. Clark and his wife owned the vehicle in North Carolina and drove the car quite sparingly – under 2,000 miles per year. If you like survivor cars, this Country Squire has it going on.
The wagon was garage kept and still retains all of its original paint. The paint has just a few chips, some scuffs on the passenger side rocker, and the body is totally rust free and solid. The faux wood is in great condition as are the bumper filler panels. The "wood" has some light clear peeling in a few places, but we haven’t seen a nicer example. All of the glass, chrome and stainless are original and in excellent condition.
The interior has been remarkably kept and looks as clean as an interior on a vehicle that is just a few years old. The seats literally look as if they have never been used. All soft parts from the carpet to the headliner are in mint condition and even the controls on the dash are free from wear.
The Ford benefits from a recent tune up, fluid change, and a full brake job including a new master cylinder. The 351 CI motor runs perfectly and the AC is ice cold. The Ford drives exactly as it would have when it was brand new and can confidently been driven anywhere.
Whether you are looking to take an epic road trip, or purchase that transport highway boat from your childhood, the wagon is pretty darn cool.
