This 1972 Chevy Cheyenne Super is a show truck stunner that has been completely restored from top to bottom. There isn’t an inch of this truck that has not been touched and the Cheyenne has just test miles since the work was completed. The truck is genuine Cheyenne Super, short bed truck, and it is amazing.
Starting with a rust free Southern truck, the restorer removed the body from the frame and completely stripped the truck down to bare metal. It was then blocked and sanded and the frame was sand blasted to remove the original paint. There was never any heavy corrosion on the frame so after it was powdercoated, the results speak for themselves. The body is dead on straight, and the paint is a high quality base/clear paint job. All of the trim on the truck is brand new as is all of the chrome. All of the glass is new as well, and of course all of the rubber trim has been replaced from front to rear. Upon reassembly of the body onto the frame, the truck received all new body bushings, and all the hardware was replaced with stainless hardware all the way around. The undercarriage of the truck is immaculate and has been buffed out just as nice as the paint on the top of the truck has. From a sheer cosmetic condition standpoint, this truck is better than new.
The interior on the truck is pristine from top to bottom and is laid out with all new soft and hard parts. The retro houndstooth seats look killer and the paint on the interior of the truck is as nice as it is on the outside. The Cheyenne features a completely restored gauge package and also has the factory tilt column. Creature comforts include a vintage looking modern radio and a ice cold factory AC system that has been completely restored.
The drivetrain of the the truck consists of a GM Performance 385 Fast Burn engine that makes 385 HP and 385 ft lbs of torque. The Fast Burn 385 blends the ZZ4 small block with GM Fast Burn cylinder heads creating a motor the breaths more efficiently than ever. Inside the engine are lots of high quality parts like a forged crankshaft, hypereutectic pistons and a steel roller camshaft. On top of the engine is a Holley 750 carb and and HEI distributor The transmission is a rebuilt TH400 and the rear end is a rebuilt 12 bolt with posi gears.
The Chevy drives as a brand new on would sans for some nice upgrades along the way. Everything is new from top to bottom and the results speak for themselves. For the most discriminating Chevy collector, this truck is for you.
