Built in the third week of October, 1966 in Kansas City, this 138 code 1967 Chevy Chevelle SS Convertible is finished in its factory correct Bolero Red over a Red interior with White top, and has only test miles since restoration. The Chevrolet is correctly presented per its trim tag, and has also survived with its original 350 HP 396 engine, 4-speed transmission and 3.73 Posi rear end.
The Chevelle underwent a frame off restoration where the frame was also stripped and powdercoated black. All new bushings were used during reassembly before the body was put back on the frame. The Chevelle has been kitted out with all new trim from front to rear including all of the chrome and stainless. All of the glass has been replaced as well, and all of the rubber is new from front to rear.
All of the suspension and brake components on the Chevelle have been rebuilt from front to rear, and while the hard suspension parts were off, they were highly detailed. New to the car are shocks, ball joints, tie rod ends, bushings, and brake lines. The master cylinder has been rebuilt, and the booster is new.
The block for the Chevelle was cast in July, the motor was assembled on September 28th and the entire car itself was built during the 3rd week of October. The motor is an EF Suffix code engine meaning it is a 350 HP engine with manual transmission. The rear end is a 12 bolt posi unit with 3.73 gear that was built in June of 1966. The heads are dated from August 6th and August 9th and the intake was cast on August 2nd. The carburetor is date coded the 3rd week of August and both the alternator and distributor are coded from August 23rd and August 30th. The radiator is the correct small core radiator that would have come with 350 HP Chevelle with a manual transmission without AC. AC cars and automatic transmission cars came with slightly larger unit and the 375 HP motor came with the HD option.
