This 1965 Cobra is a replica of the 427 Street Version made by Carroll Shelby after the success of the track car. This build was done by Shell Valley and uses a Mid-States body over a Shell Valley chassis and running gear. The Mid-States body uses thick, hand-laid fiberglass and has a much more substantial feel compared to competitors bodies. Also compared to many Cobras on the market, this car uses all new parts from front to rear and has just over 2,100 miles since new. Unlike the track version, the Shelby street car had the exhaust ran out the rear of the car which made for a much more pleasant driving experience.
The Cobra is properly powered, nicely balanced, and quite quick. We’ve done approximately 30 test miles around our shop and the car is easy to drive, and handles well. The car has a tight suspension and strong brakes. Might we say, it’s almost practical!
