This 1966 Ford Mustang is an original sheet metal Texas car that is fresh out of a large Ford collection.
Built in San Jose on July 21st for the Dallas district, this Springtime Yellow convertible was sold by Miracle Ford Inc in Dallas. The car was first sold on August 8th of 1966 to Ms. DeeAnn Wilson who purchased the car for a total cash price of $3,026.74.
Still with the car, are it’s original invoice from Miracle Ford, the original window sticker, and the original owner’s manual with the metal warranty tag. The service records have been passed from owner to owner and date back as early as 1968. A good sized stack accompany to the car.
The base price of a Mustang convertible was $2,652.86, and Ms. Wilson’s car came with the following options:
289 2V 8 cylinder
Cruise O Matic transmission
WSW tires
Power Steering
Tinted Windsheild
The car is a combination of quality restoration work, and hard to come by preservation. The vehicle retains its original sheet metal and the undercarriage still has the original red oxide primer intact. The exterior features excellent original body lines, nice paint and good chrome and trim. The engine compartment is very detailed and the interior soft parts have all been replaced.
It’s easy to find these cars, but to find such a solid original body with this level of documentation and quality restoration work is a rare thing.
