The Impala underwent a bare metal re-finish resulting in a show quality Tuxedo black paint job. The paint is two stages with a skillfully sanded and buffed finish. The clear coat is slick and smooth without all the orange peel found in modern automobiles. Also new is all of the chrome and trim. All of the “turned” brightwork down the sides and on the back of the car is in mint condition as it the stainless surrounding it. The wing windows have been restored as have all the stainless surrounding all of the windows. The glass is in excellent condition and all of the rubber has been replaced from front to rear.
Pop open the door and you’ll find a completely restored interior with all new soft parts. The SS has factory buckets, console and the gauge cluster has been fully restored and all of the stainless trim is new as well.
The 327 Turbo Fire has been rebuilt to over 300 HP and flows through the factory exhaust manifolds and dual aluminized exhaust. The exhaust note is nice and mellow, and the engine kicks right over and falls into a smooth idle. The Impala has just over 5000 miles since the restoration so it’s all dialed in a very reliable. With the power steering and power brakes, it’s easy to drive and the PowerGlide tranny is smooth.
Restorations are expensive making this car a relative bargain compared to the cost to make it this nice during the restoration process. If you’re a Chevy nut and want a really sweet factory SS, this is the car for you.
