The 292 Y block has been rebuilt and is running a Holley carb into the stock intake. Exhaust flows through a set of Red’s headers into an aluminized dual exhaust system. It has a nice, fat, mellow exhaust note that aims to please, and not drone you out on longer trips. The tranny is a rebuilt Ford-O-Matic and stock but rebuilt rear end. The engine runs cool and the tranny provides nice smooth shifts.
With the solid original metal, the wagon benefits from excellent body gaps throughout. The Ranch Wagon was refinished in two-stage paint overall new, very straight bodywork, and has a clean, color sanded finish. All of the glass is in good condition, the chrome is new, and the original stainless has been restored.
The mild custom interior is high quality and simple. It’s all been redone including the garnish moldings which were chrome plated during the interior process. Keeping things cool is a Vintage Air set up with an updated heater core to boot. It’s enough to keep all your passengers cool even in the warmest climates so you can cruise on, and your ice cream will not melt too quickly.
The car has had the suspension and brakes rebuilt, and the brakes have been upgraded with CPP front power disc. The ride is comfortable making this Ford the perfect cruiser for shows, tours and whatever else you want to throw at the wagon.
Two-door wagons are pretty rare, so if you are in the mood and Fords are your thing, this classic wagon is for you!
