This 1958 Chevy Apache Napco “Big Window” pickup has undergone a full frame-off restoration and currently presents in beautiful, show quality condition. We don’t think they built them this nice when they were new, and that’s ok with us!
The truck has the correct(’58-’59) and rebuilt 283 CI V8 engine with a Rochester 2-BBl carb and center dump exhaust manifolds. The exhaust exits through a new factory-style single line exhaust system. The engine sits in an absolutely mint engine compartment with a new radiator, new ignition system, and all new wiring. The truck is equipped with the rare NAPCO Power-Pak 4WD system. The drive train has the factory 4-speed transmission with a new clutch that runs through the correct and overhauled NAPCO Spicer 23 2-speed transfer case with power takeoff. Upfront you will find an overhauled NAPCO front axle, Selectro front locking hubs, and 7 leaf springs. In the rear, you will find the correct 8 leaf spring set up and the NAPCO specific emergency brake parts.
The quality of the interior matches the exterior and undercarriage of the truck. The seat is wrapped in the correct, one-year-only pattern and comes with new padding and modern foam. The not often seen “utility tray” is affixed behind the bench. The gauges and bezels are restored as are all the knobs and interior handles. Underneath the dash is mint and shows all new wiring and finishes. The factory heater box/system has also been restored and finished in the correct color.
The exterior of the truck is done in beautiful two-stage paint with excellent bodywork underneath. The frame of the truck was media blasted and powder coated prior to reassembly with all rebuilt suspension and brake components. Many of the fasteners have been converted to stainless and the undercarriage is a thing of beauty. All of the stainless and chrome is either new or refinished and the glass is all new through the cab.
