Created as a development platform for MidAmerica Motorworks, this Porsche Boxster was extensively modified as a promotional car for their line of performance parts. The project began in late 2000 and was finished about a year later. It was called the “Tweekster,” after their Porsche product line named Tweeks and was part of their marketing program until 2006.
Major mods:
3.4 996 engine swap
Borla headers
K&W coilovers and sway bars
Big Red turbo brakes and stainless brake lines
HRE wheels
Kevlar clutch and lightweight flywheel
GT2 996 front end
B&M short throw shifter
In a binder that comes with the Porsche, the project is documented from start to finish including everything from early marketing plans to the receipts for labor and parts. The project cost in excess of 100k.
Although many of the parts came right out of the MidAmerica catalog, the engine swap was performed by local St. Louis Porsche specialist Reid Van, Inc. Extensive documentation of all the labor steps is included with the car!
For the Porsche enthusiast looking for a one of a kind hotrod, this Boxster is a little beast.
